You've Fallen into This Old Money Pit
Welcome PDF Print E-mail

This website is a chronicle of my house. It was no accident that I got to be caretaker of this house, any more than being back in New Orleans was an accident. There is no way to tell its story without telling my own. And if its story is really a tragedy, then so is mine.

In the travails of this house, you'll find a microcosm, if you will, of an old city struggling to get back on its feet, like an aging Jake LaMotta who steps back into the ring far past his prime.

This site is for current renters who still wonder "Should I have purchased a home back during the height of the housing boom? Is it too late to experience the stomach churning pangs of a rapidly depreciating real  estate market?"

I always wanted to be a famous writer. I just didn't realize that my road to fame leads right through the Valley of the Shadow of Death. And so, like Sisyphus, I keep pushing onward. That's my dream. That's my nightmare.
